8 Things To Do in 2 Days in Madrid

Hellloooo my lovelies! I’m going to try and keep it short! But when spending two days in Madrid, here’s a list of must-dos in this beautiful city! Let me jump right into it then ladies and gents!

  • Breakfast at San Gines: Hot Chocolate and Churros

I like to think of this as the breakfast of champions. I wandered into this cafe having heard great things about it and it was at capacity. I mean people standing and eating. That’s how full it was. I ended up sitting with this one guy and making a friend but that was really the only way I could enjoy my beautiful breakfast. But trust me, the wait was worth it! I’m going to let the picture do the rest of the talking.

  • Check out the Museo del Prado gallery

I walked past this museum. I didn’t visit it and I think that might be my biggest regret on the trip for the paintings inside are names that we only ever read about! If you are an art buff, do check it out! I did take a few pictures outside it though haha.

  • Mercado de San Miguel

Now this was something else. It was like the Seattle fish market but for cooked foods and it was amazing! You can roam around this entire sample food market eating and drinking and not getting judged for it haha. The on-the-go system makes it easier to try so many things and time flies in there. I ended up trying wine, eating caviar and pork belly back to back. Interesting right? Try it out!!

  • Templo de Debod

Now this is what I like to call extravagant gifting! Egypt was grateful to Spain for all the help provided in saving the Abu Simbel temples, and hence, gifted this structure as a thank you! Well, it’s definitely worth the visit! Its a beautiful, historic site and is really close to the Royal Palace of Madrid so one can kill two birds with one stone.

  • Lavapies Neighborhood for Dinner

Now this a MUST! People in the plaza are out enjoying the weather in season and its amazing to just sit on the patio of any restaurant and just take in the buzzing around you. The people, the colors, the constant movement is absolutely amazing.

  • CaixaForum

This vertical garden is a nice view to look at for all those touristy spirits out there!

  • Zarzuela Spanish Musical Theatre

Called the Teatro de la Zarzuela, this musical theatre has shows easily available in advance are a must for historic buffs like moiself. Check it out for culturally different activities. These aren’t something that we get to do everyday!

  • Dinner at the top of any skyscraper

Aaahhhhh! The city has beautiful views everywhere! I was able to grab dinner at the beautiful Jardines de Sabatini’s rooftop overlooking the Royal Palace. The good food, great view, and amazing energy made for the best last night in Madrid!

Hope these suggestions make for a wonderful trip for you! Madrid is quintessential Europe with great history and amazing culture. Let me know in the comment section below if there is something that you experienced in your travels to Spain and think is worth mentioning!
